Terms of Service

  1. Rate - $40 per hour.
This rate is for all studio services including: recording, editing, pitch correction, mixing, mastering, etc. Rates are subject to change without notice. The rate for a session is determined at the time of booking.

  2. Deposit - A $40 non-refundable deposit is required to book a session.

  3. Booking Sessions - All recording sessions must be booked in advance and sessions must be booked for a minimum of 1 hour.

  4. Studio Hours - Studio time is usually available Mon-Thur 9:00am-5:00pm, Fri-Sat 9:00am-7:00pm. The studio is closed Sundays.

  5. Late Arrival or Missed Session - There is a 30 minute grace period for late arrival. If you arrive later than that you will be charged from the time the session was supposed to start. The deductions will occur in 30 minute increments beginning at the time the session is booked for. If a session is missed you will forfeit the deposit.

  6. Canceled Sessions and Rescheduling - If you need to cancel a session please notify me at least 48 hours before the scheduled session and we can reschedule, and the deposit will be applied to the new session without penalty. If a session is canceled within 48 hours of the time and date it is booked for, then the deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to book future sessions.

  7. How Session Time is Charged - Studio time is charged in 15 minute increments starting at the time the session is booked for, while allowing for the grace period mentioned above.

  8. Meal Breaks - For sessions lasting longer then 4 hours, a 30 minute meal break may be taken in the middle of the session if everyone in the studio agrees to it; such breaks will be off the clock. For sessions lasting less than 4 hours these breaks should be avoided and studio owner will remain on the clock. Try to plan accordingly.

  9. Editing, Timing and Pitch Correction - Depending on the quality of the performance during recording it may be necessary to make several corrections digitally in order to have a professional sounding recording. Editing the multiple takes together into a single track, called "comping", is usually done while the musicians are present to help pick out the best parts of each take. Timing and pitch correction are usually done after musicians leave. Be aware that editing and correction is a tedious process and can be very time consuming.

  10. Mixing, and Mastering Process - This is usually done when the musicians are not present and is charged and the normal studio rate. The amount of time that it takes for this process is completely dependent on the nature of the song (number of instruments, quality of performance). A simple song with just one guitar and one vocal part, with no need for pitch correction, may be mixed and mastered in as little as 1 hour; a 3 minute song for a 5 musician band is likely to take between 4-6 hours or longer. If your budget constraints do not allow for the full time needed for this process then you will need to decide if you are willing to accept a less professional sounding end product, and you will be given fewer free callback adjustments (see below). This decision will need to be made before mixing begins.

  11. Payment - Before audio files are released to clients, payment must be made for all the studio time which has been used. This includes any and all time spent recording, editing, mixing, mastering, etc. Payments can be made in the form of cash, credit card, or through Paypal, Venmo, Google Pay, or Facebook Pay through its Messenger; personal checks are not accepted.

  12. Callbacks - After mixing and mastering are complete and payment is made the song will be sent to you for review, after which you can request for adjustments to be made. I will make the adjustments and send it back to you without additional charge up to four times. If changes are still requested after the fourth callback then additional adjustments will be charged at the normal hourly rate. If you decided to limit the time spent on mixing and mastering then you will be given two free callbacks instead of the normal four, and will be charged for any changes beyond that.

By accepting booking studio time you thereby agree to these terms and conditions, and agree to abide by the studio polices.
